Von der Leyen is focusing on the EU Space Law

In her State of the Union address, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared the EU Space Law to be one of the most important priorities for the upcoming year 2024.

I am delighted about this, as I have been working towards this law for years. Among other things, it should ensure that future space projects are more sustainable, safer and that we do not further clutter up space.

After having worked towards it for years now, I enthusiastically appreciate the European Commission publicly assuming this important task and including the EU Space Law in the priorities for the upcoming years. This step was long overdue.

I will continue to advocate that factors such as sustainability standards in space are finally duly addressed. To make the EU Space Law comprehensive and fair.
