Which role will the EU play in Space?

Webinar, June 17th, 7pm

Space travel is currently undergoing rapid change. New possibilities promise profits in the billions and the richest people in the world are pushing into the orbit. At the same time, major powers such as the USA and China are expanding the militarization of space. In science, from medicine to climate research, satellite data and extraterrestrial research is becoming increasingly important.

In the coming decades, space travel will change the face of the earth. And the European Union has to decide: What role does it want to play?

We, The Greens/EFA group in the European Parliament, are taking initiative to foster a debate on the future of European space policy. In the webinar, we will thus present our new position paper on EU space policy, which you can find HERE.

We will discuss with the following guests our and their ideas for the future orientation of European space policy:

Join our discussion with

  • Prof. Thomas Hoerber, ESSCA School of Management
  • Niklas Nienass MEP, The Greens/EFA, responsible for space
  • Jean-Jacques Tortora, Director, European Space Policy Institute

Introduction by

Philippe Lamberts, MEP and co-president of The Greens/EFA group

Moderated by

Peggy Hollinger, Industry Editor of the Financial Times
