The socio-economy of Renewables

Due to new laws and falling costs, renewables are being expanded all over Europe. A study commissioned by the Greens/EFA in the European Parliament now examines the socio-economic effects of wind power & co in different regions.

The result: the effects are generally positive. But only if they are accompanied by adequate policy measures. One of the most promising approaches here is participation.

The European Union must now be the partner of the people on the ground. We must ensure that green energy revenues flow into the hands of the people – and not into the offshore accounts of large corporations!
